Nana John Henrik Clarke taught us that in Afrikan traditional cultural systems the concept of justice was maintained through honor and obligation. In other words, it was a cultural imperative for each community member to be what we call today, “restorative.” The integrity of the community was sustained by engaging in these powerful community-building and healing practices. The following books offer tools, techniques, and critical thought that RP practitioners can use to deepen their understanding of connection and challenge as they intersect with race, culture, and trauma healing practices.
