Ngozi Magena

Project Manager

Ngozi Magena is a writer, spoken word artist and the Project Manager for Akoben. Her work, both professional and artistic, is dedicated to the promotion of introspection, connection and empowerment of minority voices.

Since joining in August 2018, Ms. Magena has supported Akoben through the development of content, supervision of Restorative Practices implementation projects (“Ujima Projects”) and event management. In the 2019-2020 school year, she will begin to spearhead work around student voice through the facilitation of student-champion circles.

  • Ms. Magena graduated from San Diego State University with her B.A in Communication and is currently pursuing her M.S in Communication for Development and Social Change at Temple University.
  • Ms. Magena is the author of Sin and Virtue, a poetry collection
